(Guide) How to Install Windows Server 2016 on VMware

Today I am going to install Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 5 on VMware Workstation 12.0 and VMware ESX Server 6.0.

When you create a new virtual machine on any early version VMware Workstation (prior to release of 12.0) , there is no Windows Server 2016 guest operating system option available to select during the virtual machine creation process.  In that case Select Windows Server 2012 as the guest operating system for the virtual machine, if Windows Server 2016 is unavailable.

If you create a new virtual machine on ESXi 5.5, ESXi 5.5 Update 1, or ESXi 5.5 Update 2, there is no Windows Server 2016 guest operating system option available to select during the virtual machine creation process.  So Select Windows Server 2012 as the guest operating system for the virtual machine, if Windows Server 2016 is unavailable.

So lets start, lauch new virtual machine wizard. Select Guest operating system as "Microsoft Windows" and version as "Windows Server 2016".

In my case I am using 2 processor with two cores per processor and 2GB of memory for my Windows Server 2016 Virtual machine.
