Now I am going to Install VMware vCenter update manager Server for Windows. VMware update manager Server is a windows application that enables centralized, automated patch and version management for ESXi hosts, virtual machines and Virtual appliances.
Select the appropriate language and click OK.
Select the database solution for vSphere Update Manager and then click Next.
To install vSphere update manager Server, Mount the vSphere 5.5 installation media. The installation wizard appears. In the left pane Select “vSphere update manager Server ” and click Install.
In the welcome screen, Click Next to continue.
Accept VMware License agreement to continue.
Select “Download updates from default sources immediately after installation” click Next.
Enter the vCenter Server IP/Name and a username and password and then click.
Select either the IP address or the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of vSphere Update Manager and then click Next.
Click on Install.
Click Finish to complete the installation.
With vSphere update manager 6.0, you have to install vSphere Update Manager client for administering VMware vSphere Update Manager. To install vSphere Update Manager client, select vSphere Update Manager client from left pane and click on Install.
Select appropriate language and click OK.
Click Next in the Welcome Screen,
Accept VMware End User License Agreement, and click Next.
Click on Install to start VUM client installation,
Once vSphere Update Manager client installed, open vSphere Update Manager client and enter IP address/Name of vCenter server, Username and password to manage vSphere Update Manager 6.0
