[Guide] TF255466 The configuration process for Team Foundation Server cannot continue

I was Getting the “TF255466 The configuration process for Team Foundation Server cannot continue” error when trying to configure the Extensions for SharePoint on a  Team Foundation Server 2013.
I am using Windows 2012 and have rebooted the server several times and get the same error repeatedly. I found couple of solution but none of them works for me.

    Solution 1
If you are facing above issue, you can delete PendingFileRenameOperations from registry.
To delete PendingFileRenameOperations registry entry from Registry follow below steps,
    1) Open registry (run as administrator) and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
    2) See if there is a stringvalue "PendingFileRenameOperations"
    3) Delete the stringvalue "PendingFileRenameOperations"
    4) Now run the SharePoint extensions configuration, the configuration will succeed.
TF255466 The configuration process for Team Foundation Server cannot continue
    Solution 2
In my case above solution did not work, in my case pending.xml was the culprit, which is located under c:\Windows\WinSxS.
To resolve “TF255466 The configuration process for Team Foundation Server cannot continue”  issue simply delete c:\Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml.
To delete pending.xml Restart server in Safe Mode and delete pending.xml. Now run the SharePoint extensions configuration, the configuration will succeed.
